Logo design case studies
In this section, we take a closer look at the entire logo design process, from initial concepts to final design. We'll also feature addition graphics and design work, showing you how a brand is built using 'look and feel' design philosophies. We'll be adding new case studies periodically, so check back for updates.
Case study 1 - Goblin Off Road
Our first case study takes a look at an fully illustrative treatment for Goblin Off Road - a manufacturer of racing products, off-road accessories and after-market dashboards. The company name demanded that we design a 'goblin' character (while being ever watchful of coming too close to the Spiderman character of the same name). More
Case study 2 - AGX Technologies
There isn’t a designer alive who, at one time or another, hasn’t heard those heart-wrenching words from a client - “I could have done that in five minutes”. Here's a look at why even the most basic logo takes time to develop. More
Case study 3 - Xtreme ATV Auto Sports
While many design purists favour simple designs, the project for Australia based Xtreme ATV saw us working at the other end of the graphic spectrum - a design where the client wanted loads of realistic detail, the result of which is a very complex piece of artwork. Calling this an extreme logo is fairly fitting, considering the name of the company and their target market. More
Case study 4 - Grilled Cheese Company
The first couple of logos we pitched for this project had a nifty retro vibe going on - the illustrative style is reminiscent of 50’s era diner graphics (similar to old drive-in movie snack bar animations). Alas, as cool as we thought they were, the client was nonplussed, and wanted a more graphic interpretation. More
Case study 5 - Tek Op IT
If ever there was a classic example of a cartoon logo developed by our designs, the project for Tek Op is it. Created for a California based IT company, the design for Tek Op began as all our illustrative logos do - as a series of sketches and doodles. Before the project was finished, we had developed stationery, a nifty Flash animation and vehicle wrap graphics. More
