| Different types of logos |
Text logosText logos are visually the simplest logos but paradoxically are quite difficult to design. Your designer is limited in the visual gimmicks that are available, so font driven designs require someone with a 'mature' level of experience. Text logos promote your company name extensively. More Iconic logos usually feature simplified graphics that reflect an aspect of the company. Can be used alone, or with text. The most common type of design, yet often the most difficult to develop. Most effective when your design is to be reproduced at a small size, or in low-resolution. More Graphic logosGraphic logos lie somewhere between iconic and illustrative logos - detailed enough to be recognizable as an actual object, yet simple enough to translate into most media usages. At the studio, we view graphic, or graphical logos as hybrids between simple icons and complex illustrations. More
There are an infinite number of variables that are possible with any corporate identity design project - style, lines, theme, etc - and while many business logos may 'straddle' the various types or combine features of each, our designers have found that most design 'treatments' will fall into four distinct categories; Text, Iconic, Graphic and Illustrative.
